1. Introduction
Welcome to the website of the China Africa Meaningful Tourism Partnership NPC (CAMTP).
CAMTP is a South African Non-Profit Company dedicated to advancing economic empowerment, cooperation and sustainable development through Meaningful Tourism between China, Africa and the wider world.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and participation in CAMTP’s websites, networks, programmes, partnerships, events, training activities, digital platforms and related services.
By registering with CAMTP, applying for network participation, subscribing to services, creating an account, submitting information or otherwise using services to which these Terms apply, you agree to comply with these Terms.
Please read them carefully.
Where applicable law requires additional notice or specific consent, CAMTP will provide such notice or request that consent.
2. About CAMTP
CAMTP is incorporated in the Republic of South Africa as a Non-Profit Company under the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
CAMTP operates primarily as a:
- Non-profit tourism partnership organisation;
- Facilitator of international tourism cooperation;
- Tourism development and capacity-building organisation;
- Coordinator of public-private-community partnerships;
- Research and knowledge-sharing organisation;
- Facilitator of digital tourism connectivity and market access; and
- Advocate for Meaningful Tourism and measurable community economic empowerment.
CAMTP is governed by its Board of Directors in accordance with its registered Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI), Governance Constitution and Rules, and applicable legislation.
Important distinction regarding membership
CAMTP may use terms such as Member, Network Member, Business Member, Institutional Member, Strategic Member, Partner or Platform Participant.
These descriptions refer to participation in CAMTP’s professional, commercial, programme or stakeholder networks.
Participation does not constitute statutory membership of CAMTP under the Companies Act.
Participation does not provide ownership, shareholder rights, governance voting rights or authority to appoint directors or legally represent CAMTP.
3. Our Commitment to Meaningful Tourism
CAMTP promotes the Meaningful Tourism approach, which recognises that tourism should generate benefits and satisfaction for six stakeholder groups:
- Visitors and guests;
- Host communities;
- Tourism and hospitality employees;
- Tourism and hospitality businesses;
- Governments and public authorities; and
- The local and global environment.
We encourage participants to support responsible tourism, fair economic participation, cultural understanding, community empowerment, environmental sustainability and ethical business practices.
Participants are not required to have achieved every Meaningful Tourism objective when joining CAMTP. However, they are expected to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and responsible participation.
4. Scope of These Terms
These Terms apply, where relevant, to individuals and organisations participating in CAMTP activities, including:
- CAMTP network participants;
- Tourism businesses and service providers;
- Destinations and destination management organisations;
- Tourism associations and chambers of commerce;
- Municipalities and government institutions;
- Educational and research institutions;
- Community organisations;
- Strategic and development partners;
- MTP Exchange participants;
- Event, training and programme participants; and
- Users of CAMTP websites and digital services.
Specific services may be governed by additional terms, agreements, policies or service schedules.
Where a specific written agreement applies, its additional commercial or operational provisions will also govern the relevant relationship.
Mandatory law and CAMTP’s registered MOI take precedence in the event of a conflict.
5. Applications, Registration and Eligibility
CAMTP may establish eligibility requirements for different participation categories, programmes and services.
Applicants must provide accurate, complete and current information.
Depending on the nature of participation, CAMTP may request supporting documentation, including business registration details, professional credentials, relevant licences, contact information, tax information and other reasonable verification documents.
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.
CAMTP reserves the right to approve, defer or decline applications where reasonably necessary to protect legal compliance, stakeholders, safeguarding, operational capacity or the integrity of the CAMTP network.
Participants must inform CAMTP when material registration or organisational information changes.
6. Network Participation and Benefits
CAMTP offers different participation categories, each with its own eligibility criteria, fees and benefits.
Depending on the applicable category, benefits may include:
- Participation in the CAMTP network;
- Business profiles and directory visibility;
- Networking and partnership opportunities;
- Access to research and information;
- Training and capacity-building opportunities;
- Participation in events and programmes;
- Market-development support;
- Access to MTP Exchange;
- Preferential platform pricing; and
- Other services announced by CAMTP.
Benefits are determined by the applicable participation category and may change prospectively.
CAMTP participation does not guarantee bookings, business referrals, contracts, funding, investment, market entry, accreditation, government support or financial returns.
CAMTP will endeavour to describe available benefits accurately and distinguish existing services from proposed or future offerings.
7. Fees, Subscriptions and Payments
CAMTP may charge fees for network participation, programmes, events, training, research, digital platforms and related services.
Applicable charges will be disclosed through the relevant published price list, invoice, subscription confirmation, service schedule or written agreement.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, quoted amounts may exclude applicable taxes, payment-processing fees, banking charges and currency-conversion costs.
CAMTP may apply different pricing structures to network participants and non-member platform users.
Fees must be paid by the specified due date.
CAMTP may suspend paid services for non-payment, subject to reasonable notice where practicable.
CAMTP may revise pricing prospectively. Material changes affecting existing paid subscriptions should be communicated before revised charges become effective, subject to applicable agreements and law.
Participants may not deliberately circumvent properly disclosed transaction or platform charges.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation and refund conditions depend on the relevant service, programme, subscription or event.
Applicable cancellation provisions may be contained in:
- Subscription agreements;
- Programme conditions;
- Event registration terms;
- Service schedules;
- Booking conditions; or
- Other written agreements.
Where no specific refund provision exists, CAMTP will consider refund requests reasonably, taking into account services delivered, costs incurred, third-party commitments and the circumstances of cancellation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any cancellation, refund or consumer-protection rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. MTP Exchange and Digital Platform Services
CAMTP participates in the development and facilitation of the Meaningful Tourism Partnership Exchange (MTP Exchange).
MTP Exchange is designed to support tourism connectivity, collaboration, market access and related digital services.
Depending on availability and the applicable service arrangement, platform functionality may include:
- Tourism product listings;
- Business and destination profiles;
- Marketplace connectivity;
- Booking and transaction functionality;
- Tourism distribution services;
- Operational and reporting tools;
- Gastronomy and hospitality services; and
- Related digital capabilities.
Some services may be introduced progressively and may not be available in every market.
Access to MTP Exchange may be subject to separate platform terms, pricing schedules, booking rules and service agreements.
CAMTP does not guarantee the availability of every proposed platform feature or a particular launch date unless expressly agreed in writing.

10. CAMTP’s Role as Facilitator
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, CAMTP operates as a partnership facilitator, network coordinator and enabling organisation.
CAMTP does not ordinarily act as the principal supplier of accommodation, transport, tours, attractions, restaurant services or other tourism products offered by independent third parties.
Where a tourism product is offered by an independent supplier through a CAMTP-facilitated platform or network, the contract for delivering that product will ordinarily be between the customer and the relevant supplier.
CAMTP is not automatically a party to a commercial agreement merely because it facilitated an introduction, provided technology or assisted with onboarding.
11. Responsibilities of Tourism Suppliers
Tourism businesses and other suppliers participating in CAMTP-related services are responsible for:
- Operating lawfully;
- Maintaining required licences and registrations;
- Providing accurate product descriptions;
- Publishing correct prices and availability;
- Delivering advertised services;
- Meeting applicable safety requirements;
- Providing appropriate customer service;
- Maintaining insurance where appropriate;
- Complying with applicable tax and employment obligations; and
- Managing cancellations, refunds and contractual commitments relating to their services.
Suppliers must promptly correct inaccurate or outdated information.
CAMTP may assist with digitising, formatting or uploading tourism products. However, suppliers remain responsible for reviewing and approving information before publication.
12. Account Security
Users of CAMTP digital services must maintain the security and confidentiality of their account credentials.
Users are responsible for ensuring that only authorised individuals access organisational accounts.
Suspected unauthorised access, fraud or security breaches must be reported promptly.
CAMTP may temporarily suspend accounts where reasonably necessary to investigate security incidents or protect users and platform integrity.
13. Acceptable Use
Users and participants must not use CAMTP services for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or misleading purposes.
Prohibited activities include:
- Providing false or misleading information;
- Impersonating another individual or organisation;
- Infringing intellectual property rights;
- Attempting unauthorised access to systems or data;
- Distributing malicious software;
- Misusing confidential information;
- Harassing, threatening or discriminating against others;
- Facilitating exploitation or other unlawful conduct;
- Manipulating reviews or performance information;
- Circumventing properly disclosed platform charges;
- Misrepresenting CAMTP endorsement or accreditation; and
- Using CAMTP branding without appropriate authorisation.
CAMTP may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action.
14. Ethical Conduct and Safeguarding
CAMTP expects participants to conduct themselves with integrity, fairness and respect.
CAMTP may take appropriate action in response to serious concerns involving fraud, bribery, corruption, discrimination, harassment, exploitation, unlawful labour practices, environmental misconduct or misuse of community rights and cultural knowledge.
Additional safeguarding and ethical participation requirements may apply to specific programmes.
15. Intellectual Property and Branding
CAMTP retains ownership of intellectual property that it owns or is lawfully authorised to use, including its:
- Name and logos;
- Branding and visual identity;
- Website content;
- Reports and publications;
- Training materials;
- Methodologies;
- Templates and graphics;
- Databases; and
- Other protected materials.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit CAMTP intellectual property without appropriate permission, except where authorised by law or an applicable agreement.
Use of CAMTP logos, badges, endorsements or accreditation references requires appropriate authorisation.
Participation does not automatically grant permission to represent CAMTP or imply official endorsement.
16. Content Submitted by Participants
Participants retain ownership of intellectual property they lawfully own in content submitted to CAMTP.
By submitting material for publication, onboarding, marketplace activity or programme use, participants grant CAMTP a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for the period reasonably required to deliver the relevant service.
This licence permits CAMTP to store, reproduce, format, display, transmit, publish and technically process submitted content for the agreed service. Translation is included where authorised.
Participants confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions to submit such material.
CAMTP may remove content that reasonably appears unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, infringing or inconsistent with these Terms.
17. Privacy and Personal Information
CAMTP is committed to protecting personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements, including South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), where applicable.
Personal information may be processed for legitimate purposes connected with:
- Account and participation administration;
- Programme delivery;
- Platform operations;
- Bookings and payments;
- Communications;
- Events and training;
- Research and impact measurement;
- Security; and
- Legal and regulatory compliance.
CAMTP may engage appropriate third-party technology and service providers.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, CAMTP will seek to ensure compliance with applicable data-protection requirements.
Further details are governed by CAMTP’s separate Privacy and Data Protection Policy.
18. Research and Impact Measurement
CAMTP may collect and analyse appropriate programme, operational and impact information to support research, monitoring, evaluation and organisational reporting.
This may include Meaningful Tourism indicators relating to economic participation, community benefits, employment, enterprise development and environmental responsibility.
Published findings should use aggregated, anonymised or appropriately authorised information unless identification is necessary and lawful.
Participants must provide accurate information and must not knowingly manipulate research or impact measurements.
19. Confidentiality
Participants receiving confidential information through CAMTP activities must take reasonable steps to protect it.
Confidential information must not be disclosed without permission unless disclosure is authorised for a project, required by law or concerns information lawfully available in the public domain.
Separate confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements may apply to particular partnerships or projects.
20. Third-Party Technology and External Services
CAMTP may rely on independent service providers for hosting, software, payments, communications, booking connectivity and other technical functions.
CAMTP will exercise reasonable care in selecting and managing material providers but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of third-party infrastructure outside its reasonable control.
External services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
21. Service Availability and Changes
CAMTP may improve, update, replace, suspend, discontinue or reconfigure services where reasonably required for operational, strategic, legal or security purposes.
Where practicable, CAMTP will provide reasonable notice of material changes significantly affecting existing paid services.
CAMTP does not guarantee uninterrupted digital platform availability or the introduction of every planned service.
22. Suspension and Termination
CAMTP may suspend or terminate participation or access where reasonably necessary because of:
- Material breach of these Terms;
- Persistent non-payment;
- Fraud or material misrepresentation;
- Unlawful activity;
- Security threats;
- Serious ethical or safeguarding concerns;
- Intellectual property infringement;
- Unauthorised use of CAMTP branding; or
- Serious legal or operational risks.
Where appropriate, CAMTP will inform the participant of the reason and provide a reasonable opportunity to respond.
Immediate suspension may occur where urgent action is reasonably necessary to protect people, funds, information, systems or legal compliance.
Participation may also end through cancellation, expiry, mutual agreement or other applicable contractual provisions.
Termination does not automatically cancel outstanding obligations or charges properly incurred before termination.
When participation ends, former participants must stop representing themselves as current CAMTP participants and discontinue unauthorised use of CAMTP branding or current-participant badges.
23. Disclaimer of Warranties
CAMTP seeks to provide its services with reasonable care.
However, except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing, CAMTP does not guarantee:
- Business growth;
- Sales or bookings;
- Financial returns;
- Funding or investment;
- Market access;
- Employment creation;
- Successful partnerships;
- Uninterrupted platform availability; or
- Specific economic, social or developmental outcomes.
CAMTP research, market intelligence and strategic information are intended to support decision-making and do not replace professional legal, financial, tax, technical or investment advice.
Participants remain responsible for conducting appropriate due diligence before entering commercial arrangements.
24. Limitation of Liability
Important: This section affects the allocation of legal and commercial risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CAMTP shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising solely from:
- Acts or omissions of independent suppliers;
- Inaccurate information supplied by participants;
- Third-party system failures outside CAMTP’s reasonable control;
- Participant misuse of services;
- Unauthorised account access caused by a participant’s failure to protect credentials;
- Transactions independently concluded between participants; or
- Events outside CAMTP’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct where applicable.
Specific signed agreements may contain additional liability provisions governing the relevant services.
25. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, participants may be required to indemnify CAMTP against losses, claims or reasonable costs arising directly from their unlawful conduct, fraud, material breach of these Terms, infringement of third-party intellectual property rights, unauthorised representations made in CAMTP’s name or unlawful provision of products and services.
This provision does not apply to the extent that a loss results from CAMTP’s own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
26. Force Majeure
Neither CAMTP nor a participant shall ordinarily be responsible for failure to perform obligations where performance is prevented by circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, war, civil disorder, government restrictions, major cyber incidents or widespread infrastructure disruption.
Affected parties should take reasonable steps to mitigate the consequences.
Payment obligations relating to services already delivered are not automatically cancelled by such events.
27. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
CAMTP encourages participants to raise concerns promptly.
Complaints should contain sufficient information to allow appropriate investigation.
Complaints may be submitted to:
China Africa Meaningful Tourism Partnership NPC
Email: office@camtp.net
Website: www.camtp.net
CAMTP will seek to assess material complaints fairly, maintain appropriate confidentiality and escalate serious matters where necessary.
Where a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt resolution through good-faith discussions.
Unresolved disputes may be escalated to senior representatives or, where agreed, referred to mediation or another appropriate dispute-resolution process.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a party from seeking urgent legal relief or exercising rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
28. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa unless a specific written agreement lawfully provides otherwise.
Any court proceedings shall be brought before a court having competent jurisdiction, subject to applicable law and valid dispute-resolution arrangements.
Relevant legislation may include:

29. Electronic Communications
CAMTP may communicate electronically regarding applications, accounts, invoices, programmes, services, policy changes, security notices and other participation-related matters.
Marketing communications will be managed in accordance with applicable consent, direct-marketing and data-protection requirements.
Electronic records may be retained as evidence of applications, transactions, acceptance and communications where permitted by law.
30. Changes to These Terms
CAMTP may update these Terms to reflect changes in legislation, governance, services, technology, pricing structures or operational requirements.
Material changes should be communicated through appropriate channels.
Changes materially affecting existing paid contractual commitments will be implemented subject to applicable agreements and law.
The current version and effective date will be displayed on this webpage.
31. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Failure by CAMTP to enforce a provision on one occasion does not constitute a permanent waiver of its rights.
These Terms, together with applicable policies, service schedules, pricing documents and signed agreements, form the contractual framework governing the relevant CAMTP relationship.
No informal statement overrides an authorised written CAMTP agreement.
